With GTD and 66 KW engine: Stabilizer in front. With GT: Stabilizer in the back. Maintenance-free steering rack with collapsible safety steering column.
Brake assembly/wheel/tires
Diagonal dual circuit brake system with disc brakes in front and self-adjusting drum brakes in the back, brake boosters. 51 KW and 59 KW turbo-Diesels, 66 KW engine or with automatic transmission: Brake pressure regulator. GT: ventilated brake disks in front, disc brakes in the back. Steel wheels with drop-base rim. Steel belted tire. syncro/G60: ABS, steel wheels with drop-base rim. (G60 in the last pro D year me LM wheels) GT/GTI/GTD Special: Light alloy wheels, otherwise steel belted tire-space-saving emergency wheel.
Engine/electrical
Connection in front more arranged, crosswise inserted row engine. Fivefold stored crankshaft. Valve gear over toothed belts by obenliegende cam shaft (OHC) and bucket tappets with maintenance-free hydraulic valve clearance reconciliation. Liquid cooling as closed pressurized system with pump, radiator, header tank and electrically propelled, thermalstatically regulated cooling fan. Pressure feed system with oil pump and change oil filter. Petrol engines: electronic ignition system, Longlife spark plugs. Carburetor engines: read and/or temperature-steered preheating of intake air and electrical mixture tubing preliminary heating ("hedgehog "plus cooling water-heated suction tube). 51 KW and 66 KW petrol engines: Schubabschaltung. 40 KW -, 44 KW and 51 KW diesel engines: High-speed glow plugs. 59 KW turbo-Diesels: Glow plugs with particularly long Nachgluehzeit, load air cooling. 44 KW -, 51 KW and 59 KW turbo-Diesels: Supercharger, oil cooler. 44 KW turbo-Diesels: Oxidation catalyst. All diesel engines: Filter preheating equipment. 12-Volt-System with alternator and maintenance-poor battery. Central electrical connection.

front wheel drive over dry single plate clutch, full-synchronized transmission, differential and double joint shaft sections. G60: hydraulic clutch

Selbsttragene body with form-stable safety passenger compartment. Additional section stiffener in the doors for the increase of lateral collision security. Deformation zone in front and in the back.
