В такъв случай кабела се свързва за една от фазите на алтернатора и всъщност оборотомера чете сигнала от нея който според колегите от форума е синусоидален а самия оборотер се явява брояч на честота, което за генераторите всъщност представлява тяхната скорост на въртене.

yep,its ac like what comes out the wall in your house
speed and frequency are the "same" thing
on generators(im a tech) generator hz IS engine speed
on a 4 pole rotor gen,the engine runs@ 1800 rpm,giving 60 hz
and basicallyif you change engine speed(increase) 30 rpms that is 1 hz
run your gen/engine faster than 60,and your clocks speed up
yer alternator is the same deal
since engine speed changes,so does hz/speed of the alt.
